The Second Cohort of the Compass Project continues attending training workshops

In partnership with the Embassy of the United States in Morocco, the Association continues to implement the Compass Project to accompany young women and men towards the world of work and entrepreneurship, which benefits 85 young participants in the Sousse Massa region.

Last weekend, the association organized a series of training workshops in various fields. A workshop on formulating a business plan was held in Agadir, under supervision by Dr. Abdelhakim Fakhour, a Responsible of the Business Creation’s Support in the Regional Direction for Vocational Training (OFPPT) in Souss Massa, for 20 artisans working in woodcarpentry and plumbing. The workshop aimed to enable participants to learn the most important techniques in writing business plans in order to seek funding or benefit from public and community initiatives in support of income-generating activities.

In addition, a training workshop on personal skills was organized in Agadir, under the supervision of Mr. El Houcine Ichou, a consultant on social entrepreneurship and solidarity economy, and benefited 25 Project Holders. The workshop focused on conflict management and negotiation techniques in two parts: the conceptual part of analyzing the dynamics of conflict and the role of negotiation, and the practical part of identifying means and tools for conflict resolution and organizing mediation processes.

The association also organized two other training workshops, the first of which was on conflict management and negotiation techniques, in accordance with the same methodology of the previous day’s workshop, supervised by Mrs. Afafe Amrani, University Professor and Professional Orientation Consultant, for the benefit of 25 trainees of vocational training centers (OFPPT) in Agadir. The second workshop was supervised by Hamza Al Hachimi, Executive in Regional Center for Investment in Tata, for the benefit of 15 OFPPT trainees, and was devoted to the legal framework for the establishment of enterprises in Morocco and how to research the legal and administrative frameworks governing specific economic sectors.

It is worth mentioning that all participants are required to apply the new skills and information acquired at each workshop at the level of their work plan, as of the pedagogical program of the Compass project, with individual follow-up by the team of the Association, and with the intervention of experts to help participants overcome the difficulties they may find in this process.
